# What You Need:
→ Pasta
01 - 14 oz fettuccine or linguine
→ Meats
02 - 5 oz chopped bacon or pancetta
→ Vegetables
03 - 1/2 medium head green cabbage, finely shredded (14 oz)
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
→ Sauce
05 - 1 cup heavy cream
06 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
07 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter
→ Seasoning
08 - Salt, to taste
09 - Black pepper, to taste
10 - A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
11 - Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
# Directions:
01 - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water, then set aside.
02 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy, about 6 to 8 minutes. Transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate and discard all but 1 tablespoon of fat from the pan.
03 - Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add shredded cabbage and a pinch of salt. Sauté until golden and crisp-tender, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
04 - Reduce heat to low, then pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens, about 2 minutes. Add reserved pasta water gradually to adjust sauce consistency if needed.
05 - Add drained pasta to the skillet and toss thoroughly with sauce, cabbage, and most of the crispy bacon, reserving some for garnish. Season generously with black pepper and add nutmeg if desired.
06 - Plate immediately, topping with remaining bacon, extra Parmesan, and chopped fresh parsley.
