# Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x18-inch sheet pan and line with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl until well blended.
- Beat unsalted butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy, approximately 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Blend in vanilla extract.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients in three additions, alternating with milk. Begin and end with dry ingredients. Stir only until incorporated.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared sheet pan. Smooth the surface with an offset spatula.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow sheet cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Beat butter on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes. Gradually add powdered sugar. Mix in vanilla extract and 4 to 6 tablespoons milk or heavy cream until smooth and desired consistency is achieved.
- Separate frosting into portions; tint each with food coloring for base, borders, and piping as needed.
- Spread a smooth layer of colored buttercream over cooled cake. Use piping bags fitted with round or star tips to pipe borders and ‘Class of 2026’. Apply sprinkles or edible decorations if desired.
- Chill decorated cake for 30 minutes to set frosting before slicing and serving.
