02 - 7 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped

# Directions:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or arrange 12 silicone snowflake molds.
02 - Heat the chopped semi-sweet or dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth, or melt using a double boiler.
03 - Stir 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract into the melted dark chocolate, if using.
04 - Pour the melted dark chocolate into the molds or spread evenly on the baking sheet to a 1/4-inch thickness. Tap gently to level.
05 - Refrigerate for 15 minutes until the dark chocolate layer is set.
06 - Melt the white chocolate using the same method as the dark chocolate.
07 - If desired, stir 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
08 - Pour the melted white chocolate over the chilled dark chocolate layer and spread evenly with a small offset spatula.
09 - Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the white chocolate immediately, pressing lightly to ensure adhesion.
10 - Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until fully set.
11 - Remove from molds or break into snowflake pieces and store in an airtight container in a cool place.
