# Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, approximately 3-4 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding flour mixture and milk to butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly among prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla; beat until smooth and fluffy.
- Divide buttercream into four bowls. Tint each with different galaxy colors: navy blue, purple, teal, and black.
- Place alternating spoonfuls of each colored buttercream onto cake layers and sides. Use offset spatula to swirl gently for galaxy effect.
- Sprinkle edible glitter generously over cake. Add fondant Pisces symbols or stars if desired.
- Chill for 30 minutes before slicing to set the design.
